Payment of your study grant

The study grant will be paid to the account number you register in your student profile via the Study Grants e-portal itself. Do you have an approved file for academic year 2024-2025? Then you will receive your study grant within a few weeks. Do you have an approved file from an older academic year? Then you will receive your study grant within the month

Payment to the students themselves

  • The study grant is paid to the account number you register in your student profile via the Study Grants e-portal itself.
    • It is recommended to always use your own account number.
    • You can choose to provide an account number of, say, a parent. But you as a student are the beneficiary of the amount. If there is a subsequent review of your file and it turns out that you are actually ineligible or have received too high an amount, you will be contacted to refund the unduly received amount. This is called a money recovery.
  • It is recommended to always use your own account number.
    Log in to the Study Grants e-portal.
    • Do you log in for the first time? Set up your student profile.
    • Does your profile already exist? Click on the hamburger menu at the top to access the profile details..In this way, the account number is updated in the file almost immediately.
Arrangement in debt mediation
  • If you are in debt mediation, the disbursement will be made to the debt mediator’s account number if the debt mediation judgment is sent with it.
  • Disbursements will continue to be made to the debt counsellor’s account number until a certificate of cessation of debt counselling is delivered, even if the student enters a different account number.
  • If your parent is in debt mediation, it does not affect the payment of your study grant. You yourself are entitled to the study grant and you enter the account number yourself.

Decision letter and time of disbursement

You will always receive a letter just before payment, with the calculation and payment details.

  • For approved files for academic year 2024-2025, you will receive your study grant in your account within a few weeks.
  • For approved files from academic year 2023-2024 and older, you will receive your study grant in your account within a month.

Payout to wrong account number?

  • At the time the payment order is issued, you will receive the decision letter.
  • The account number used is the one currently entered in the student profile. From then on, it is not possible to stop the payment. Changing the account number in the student profile does not change the current payment, only payments in the future.
  • What happens next depends on the situation. Here are some possible cases.
